At the Hill County Commission’s weekly business meeting Hill County Commissioner Mike Wendland said work on the Hill County Courthouse’s elevator could begin as early as Tuesday.
Wendland said a crane might be in the street that day so people should keep that in mind.
The elevator, which has been out of service since late August, has necessitated that the commission set up a voting station in the Timmons Room to provide handicap access for residents of Hill County.
During the business meeting, the commission also announced the resignation of Hill County Conservation District Administrator Kat Whitaker.
Wendland said next week the commission will discuss adopting the Correctional Risk Services Insurance Contract for the Hill County Detention Center, which he described as a no-brainer issue that the county will certainly stick with this year.
He also said there would be discussion with Great West Engineering work on Beaver Creek Dam.
