The Montana State University-Northern rodeo teams closed out the 2020 fall season on their home dirt.
Last Friday and Saturday, the Lights and Skylights hosted the MSU-Northern Big Sky Region Rodeo inside the Bigger Better Barn in Havre.
Highlights for the Lights and Skylights included, in the team roping event. The team of Mikenna Schauer and Lincoln Yarama took home first place with a score of 13.3. Treygan Olson and Brett Bartholomew also got into the Top 10 in team roping.
Standout Kolby Kittson finished in second place in saddle bronc riding for the Lights, as well. In barrel racing, Callie Otoupalik placed third for the Skylights, while Kristyn Kittson was seventh.
Northern rodeo will return in the spring.
The MSU-N golf teams also wrapped up the fall this past week. The Lights and Skylights played in the Battlin' Bear Invitational in Billings last Sunday.
The Lights finished fourth. Kyle Vandenacre led the Lights, taking 23rd with a score of 83 (12 over par). T.J. Reynolds and Dustin Haas tied for 25th place with a score of 84 (13 over par).
Megan Vandenacre led the Skylights taking 10th place with a total score of 94 (23 over par). ShaAnn Danelson took 16th with a total score of 103 (32 over par). Leotie Whitehead took 17th.
Northern will resume the golf season next spring.
