Julie Ann Strauser of Havre, Montana, 64, passed away October 1, 2020.
Julie was born May 6, 1956, in Havre, Montana, to Agatha (Herron) and Hubert (Lars) Golie. She attended Havre High School and was very active in 4-H, Omoksee and the Soroptimist Club. She attended 4-H Congress in sewing and sheep.
Julie attended college in Thermopolis, Wyoming, where she received a degree in veterinary technology. She married Scot Strauser in 1976. They had one son, Sandy Bob. Sandy Bob later gave her grandchildren, Gunner and Style. They were her world.
Julie and Scot made their home on the ranch south of Havre. Through the years she helped with all aspects of the ranch as well filling her time on working as a vet tech, cleaning houses, a member of the fair board, 4-H leader and an EMT. Julie was the MSU-Northern rodeo coach from 2002-2005, until she took a job with the railroad. She was also well-known in the rodeo/team roping world as one of the best timers/secretaries.
Julie was well-known for her fierce love for family and friends. She was always the first to volunteer to help and could be counted on to show up.
Julie was preceded in death by her father, Hubert Golie, and her mother, Agatha Golie.
She is survived by her husband, Scot Strauser; son, Sandy (Michaela) Strauser; her two grandchildren, Gunner and Style; her sister Cathy Bessette; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 10, 1:00 p.m. at First Lake, Beaver Creek Park.
Memorials in Julie's honor may be made to the 4-H Foundation or to the charity of one's choice.
