Lights, Skylights excited to host the MSU-Northern Rodeo

With last spring's schedule and the College National Finals Rodeo wiped out due to the emergence of COVID-19, the Montana State University-Northern men's and women's rodeo teams have certainly enjoyed the fall season.

And now, the Lights and Skylights are really going to enjoy the end to the Big Sky Region's fat schedule. That's because the end comes this weekend at home when they host the annual MSU-Northern Rodeo inside the Bigger Better Barn in Havre.

The rodeo will feature a pair of performances and many of the Big Sky Region teams will be in attendance, including Montana State, Montana Western, Dawson Community College, and more.

Northern was just in Glendive last weekend for the DCC Rodeo, which was the third event on the fall slate. Mikenna Schauer was a standout for the Skylights in the rodeo.

Now though, Northern gets to close out the fall at home. Head coach Doug Kallenberger has a strong team again this season, including junior Kolby Kittson who is one of the region's best saddle bronc riders. Schauer and Kassidy Williamson have been among the tough competitors on the women's team so far this fall.

And this weekend, the fall comes to a close, as the Lights and Skylights host the MSU-Northern Rodeo inside the Bigger Better Barn at the Great Northern Fairgrounds. Performances will start at 7 p.m. both Friday and Saturday.
