It's one of the biggest rivalries in all of Class C football. But in the latest installment, it was no contest.
Friday night in Chester, the Chinook Sugarbeeters pounced on the Chester-Joplin-Inverness Hawks in a Northern C showdown, winning 64-20. The Beeters saw Hunter Molyneaux take the opening kickoff 75 yards for a touchdown and Chinook never looked back in the rousing victory. The Beeters scored 48 points in the first half as well.
Chinook racked up over 400 yards of total offense, including Molyneaux rushing for 110 yards and Braxton Inman adding 91 on the ground. Benton Elliot also threw for 94 yards and two scores as Chinook improved to 2-1 in the Northern C and 3-1 overall. The Beeters host Simms for homecoming Friday night.
The Hawks, meanwhile, fell to 1-2 in the conference and 1-3 overall. They got 98 yards rushing and 90 passing from Kyle Harmon in the loss, while Lane Fischer scored twice and had 55 yards receiving and 30 more on the ground. CJI visits Shelby this Friday.
Glasgow 64, Harlem 8
The Harlem Wildcats started off strong in 2020, but the last two weeks have been tough.
And Friday night, the Wildcats ran into a buzzsaw in the form of the Glasgow Scotties. In a Northern B showdown, the Scotties throttled the Wildcats 64-8. Glasgow poured on 40 first-half points, and racked up over 400 yards rushing, while Harlem didn't score until a 67-yard TD catch by Andrew Rasmussen in the second half.
The loss dropped Harlem to 2-2 on the season. The Wildcats host Conrad this Friday night.

The Rocky Boy Stars were in action in the Northern C last Friday night, and while the Stars' offense was rolling, they couldn't stop the Choteau Bulldogs in a 62-30 defeat.
Ben Crebs rushed for over 100 yards, and the Stars got a strong outing from Joe Demontiney, but, it wasn't enough to slow down the Bulldogs.
Rocky Boy fell to 1-3 on the year and will travel to Belt for another tough Northern C affair this Friday night.
Box Elder 25, Hart Butte 19
There were two Class C Six-Man games on Saturday, and, one saw an area team grab its first win of 2020.
Saturday afternoon, the Box Elder Bears won a thriller over the Heart Butte Warriors in a Six-Man North showdown. The win was Box Elder's first of the young season, and, led by veteran quarterback Kadyn Duran, the Bears, who may be short on numbers this season, pulled off a big win under head coach Jake Eldridge.
Box Elder, now 1-2 on the season, has a bye before taking on Valier on Friday night.
Valier 38, North Star 18
Speaking of the Panthers, they spoiled North Star's homecoming Saturday afternoon in Rudyard. In another Six-Man North game, the Panthers led the Knights 12-0 early and went on to win 38-18.
Payne Ditmar scored twice for the Knights, on runs of 34 and one years. But it wasn't enough as Valier scored 13 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to put North Star away for good. Gavin Spicher also threw a TD pass for North Star. Ditmar rushed for 160 yards on 24 carries, while Jaden Sargent added 71 more on the ground for the Knights.
The Knights fell to 1-3 on the season, and will be off this week.
