Hi-Line volleyball season is in full swing now, as teams around the area begin to get used to the new way of playing during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Of course, nothing seems to bother the Fort Benton Longhorns, who swept Chinook last Thursday night, by scores of 25-17, 25-18 and 25-23. In the 7C showdown, Emerson Giese had nine kills for the longhorns, while Ashlee Wang had 13 assists. Chinook was led by Delaney Kellam with 11 kills and a block.
Thursday night also saw Harlem defeat North Country in a non-conference match, while Big Sandy visited Box Elder in another 7C conference matchup.
Friday night, Chester-Joplin-Inverness swept Centerville in a 7C matchup. In the Hawks 3-0 win, Tatum Hull had a huge match with 13 kills, 24 digs and three blocks. CJI was also scheduled to host Hays-Lodge Pole Saturday in Chester, but that match was canceled.
In other action Saturday, Chinook bounced back from its loss to Fort Benton with a 3-1 win over Geraldine-Highwood. The Sugarbeeters beat the Rivals by scores of 22-25, 25-19, 25-15 and 25-22. Delaney Kellam had 13 kills and five blocks, while Lily Surber had 14 digs and nine aces for the Beeters.
Saturday also saw North Star beat the Centerville Miners by scores of 25-15, 25-15, 19-25 and 25-14. Kira King led the Knights with nine kills.
This weekend also saw Harlem defeat Rocky Boy, while the Morning Stars lost to Choteau.
