The Chippewa Cree Tribe Natural Resources Department has issued a warning to the public about black bear sightings in the Bear Paw Mountains.
Officials said people have reported several sightings, so they are warning people to remember to keep their property and campsites tidy with food and garbage secured.
State recommendations for campers are for garbage to be in a container or enclosed structure and food to be in bear-proof containers, an enclosed structure or hung several feet off the ground by rope from a tree limb.
Natural Resources also warned people not to approach or provoke any bears and asked for sightings to be reported to tribal Fish and Game at 395-4207.
Sightings on Beaver Creek Park can be reported to park Superintendent Chad Edgar at 395-4565.
