Letter to the Editor - Walmart should enforce mask requirement

Dear editor:

    During the first 20 minutes of our shopping at Havre’s Walmart on Aug. 16, I noticed six adults and two children (about eight years old) not wearing face masks.  I asked an assistant manager what could be done about that because those are the kind of people who spread COVID-19.  the assistant manager replied that the store manager, Dave Tolley, says there’s nothing they can do.

    Nonsense!  Managers can tell the unmasked people to keep a mask on or leave immediately, unless they present genuine proof that they have a medical condition that prevents them from wearing a mask. If they do not, or refuse, or return without a mask, the store manager can charge them with trespassing.

I should not be required to shop at six or seven a.m. to avoid maskless morons. Mr. Tolley needs to think more about the safety of his employees and customers.
