Triangle annual meetings in Havre and Big Timber canceled

Triangle Communications has announced its annual meetings scheduled for October have been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

A press release said the Board of Trustees of Triangle Telephone Cooperative Association, doing business as Triangle Communications, had previously voted to hold two annual meetings in October of this year.

“Triangle was very excited to host a north meeting in Havre and a south meeting in Big Timber, which would allow even more of our membership to participate in the business side of the cooperative,” the release said. “However, due to the increase in COVID cases throughout the state of Montana; the board has made the difficult decision to cancel our annual meetings at both locations. Given the rapid growth of COVID spreading across our great state and volatility of not knowing who or when someone may contract the virus, the board has weighed in on the side of caution for 2020.

“Due to the fact that our bylaws do not allow for an annual meeting outside of the month of October, the board will continue to look at the future and decide if it is best to hold a special meeting or wait until the next annual meeting to handle the cooperatives business, which our bylaws do allow for just such contingencies,” the release continued.

The release said Triangle will continue to keep its members informed on how the cooperative is doing.  The board’s annual meeting updates will appear in the September/October Keeping You Connected magazine including reports from the president and general manager along with the financial report.

“Even though we will not be meeting in person, we are still here to serve you, our members,” the release said. “Call our office, contact your local board member with any questions or concerns or follow us on Facebook for timely updates.

“Be assured the board, management and employees at Triangle will continue to provide the best service possible. We continue to put your safety and the safety of our employees first so hopefully we will be able to meet in person sometime soon. Be safe,” the release concludes.
