From the Coutrs - State District Court: Woman sentenced in two cases, two others connected to burglary ring dismissed

Kate Lambourne was sentenced in state District Court in Havre Monday in two cases, while the prosecution dropped two other cases connected to a local burglary ring.

Lambourne was charged last year in one case with criminal possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia, in another with theft, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and criminal mischief, in another with theft and in another with obstruction of justice.

Some of the charges stemmed from officers reporting that, while investigating reports Lambourne had taken, used and damaged a vehicle without permission, items stolen in local burglaries including from the local John Deere dealership were found.

Lambourne later was charged with obstruction of justice when she refused to give information why Cali Brien was hiding in the trunk of a stolen vehicle partially spraypainted in which Lambourne was a passenger.

Brien told officers she was in the vehicle because of her connection with Jaylen Jake Crazyboy, who was helping her move to a new residence.

Crazyboy was a suspect in a string of burglaries and thefts including the John Deere dealership thefts.

Brien later pleaded guilty in a plea agreement to unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and Judge Kaydee Snipes Ruiz imposed a six-month deferred imposition of sentence.

Crazyboy and Fabian Joel “JuJu” Saddler Jr. are scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 9 on charges including in connection with the burglary and theft ring.

Lambourne last fall pleaded guilty in a plea agreement to the first three cases but that was put on hiatus when the obstruction of justice charge was filed.

She was scheduled to be sentenced in some charges earlier this spring, but her attorney requested that be delayed while she went through a treatment program and while possible agreements with the prosecution were negotiated.

Monday, Snipes Ruiz imposed a two-year deferred imposition of sentence on Lambourne for the drug charge and to six month sentences, all suspended, on each of misdemeanor counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and criminal mischief and ordered her to pay $140 in fees and surcharges and restitution in the amount of $980.72 plus a 10 percent administrative fee.

At the request of the prosecution, all other charges were dismissed.
