Blaine County has issued a burn ban effective immediately

Blaine County Sheriff's Office posted on its Facebook page today that the Blaine County Commission approved a burn ban in the county effective immediately.

The ban is due to extremely hot and dry conditions in the county, the post said.

The ban comes as Bureau of Land Management is fighting two fires in the region and a roadside grass fire on U.S. Highway 2 east of Harlem was extinguished Thursday.
