Randy Joe Sargent passed away Friday, July 10th, in Waxahachie, Texas.
Randy was a proud veteran as a hospital corpsman in the U.S. Navy, serving for 6 years. He was commissioned to the USS Blueridge LCC-19, the command communications ship during the evacuation of Vietnam.
Randy spent a total of 30 years working at Burlington Northern Railroad and Union Pacific Railroad as a field engineer.
Randy has always been a strong, determined fighter and was a proud cancer survivor of over 10 years. He loved his family deeply.
Randy was survived by his wife of 43 years, Susan; daughter, Amanda, son-in-law Toby, grandson Dax; son, Kenny, son-in-law Kelrick and grandsons Luca and Finn; brother Rodney; sister, Carolyn; many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded by his parents, Kenneth and Jolene Sargent; brother Clyde Sargent.
A small family service will take place Saturday, July 18th, at 11 a.m. at the home of Amanda Hardeman in Midlothian Texas, and will be held over Zoom for those who are not able to attend. Please email Amanda for the Zoom link at [email protected].
