Holt resigns as HHS x-country coach

Fall sports are hopefully right around the corner. And, as they approach, Havre High School will be looking for a new head cross country coach.

On Tuesday, new Havre High Activities Director Brian Kessler announced that longtime head coach Josh Holt has resigned his post.

Holt has guided the Blue Ponies for nearly a decade, and he actually stepped down last season to take a new job, but just before the 2019 season began, he came back to coach the Pony boys and girls cross country teams for one more fall.

"We thank Josh for his work with our student athletes and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors," Kessler said in an email.

Holt leaves a second fall head coach vacancies at HHS. The Ponies are also looking for a new head volleyball coach.

Fall sports are set to begin Aug. 13 with practices. The first competition for cross country is Sept. 4 in Cut Bank. Havre's first volleyball matches are slated for Aug. 28-29 in Sidney.
