Infant abducted in Poplar found, Amber alert canceled

Officials announced the Amber Alert issued Monday for an infant abducted in Poplar has been canceled.

A release issued Tuesday night said 1-year-old Malachai Talley has been located and is safe.

No other details were provided.

Officials have released an Amber Alert for an infant abducted from Poplar.

The release said Malachie Talley, a 1-year-old black and Native American Boy, was forcefully taken from his home in Poplar by Dejarreh Talley, a 22-year-old black man.

Dejarrah Talley was traveling with three unknown white men, and after taking the child they got into a white or silver SUV, possibly with North Dakota license plates. The direction of travel is unknown but they may be traveling toward Williston, North Dakota. All of the men may be intoxicated and Dejarrah Talley was armed with a baseball bat.

People with information are asked to call the Roosevelt County/Fort Peck Tribal Police at 406-653-6240 or dial 911, the release said.
