News you can use
Editor,
How have Montanans been sheltered from the corona virus pandemic?
By closing campuses early in the pandemic.
By ensuring that out-of-staters self-quarantined for 14 days upon arrival.
By encouraging social distancing, frequent handwashing and the use of face masks.
How do we proceed?
By testing for and tracking the infections, especially now, when COVID-19 cases are burgeoning in our beautiful state.
And I would think:
• By not opening university-system campuses to out-of-town and out-of-state students.
• By not scheduling college sporting events here and away.
We shut down the state months ago, well before the virus got its foot in the door, and now that it’s finally beginning to spread like wildfire, we decide to open that door wide?
How is this not the definition of insanity?
Sincerely curiously yours,
Alan Sorensen
