Obituary - Evelyn Eggen

Evelyn Eggen, 103, passed Wed, June 24, 2020 in Jacksonville, FL.

Graveside services will be Thursday, July 2, at 1 p.m. at Joplin Cemetery.

Evelyn was born January 25, 1917, in Chester to Emile and Carrie (Holmquist) Jabes. She graduated from Chester High School in 1935 and married Clifton Eggen in October of 1939 in Great Falls.

Along with helping her husband farm and ranch, Evelyn enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting, crocheting, playing cards, reading books, cooking and baking. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother.

Survivors include sons, Paul and Roger, both of Jacksonville, FL, and Maurice of Houston, TX; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters Margaret of Havre and Pearl of Chester and 10 nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton, in 1995; her parents; brothers, Woodrow and William and sister Violet.

Evelyn was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church. Memorials can be made to the church at Bethel Lutheran Church, Secondnd Ave East, Joplin, MT 59531.
