Kristopher Alan Chapman pleaded guilty Wednesday in state District Court in Havre to having sex to a minor.
In a separate hearing in state District Court Wednesday, Chapman admitted to violating conditions of his release in a 2016 sentence for assault with a weapon.
Chapman was charged Jan. 23, 2020, with multiple counts of sexual intercourse without consent and sexual abuse of children and with a charge of indecent exposure after he was accused of having sex with and filming a pre-high school-aged girl.
He pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of sexual intercourse without consent and Judge Kaydee Snipes Ruiz set sentencing for Aug. 26.
Before Judge David Cybulski Wednesday in state District Court in Havre, Chapman admitted to violating the conditions of his release in a six-year deferred imposition of sentence imposed by Judge Dan Boucher in May 2016.
Cybulski took jurisdiction in the case when Boucher retired.
In that case, Chapman pleaded guilty in a plea agreement to a felony count of assault with a weapon in a case filed after a woman said he struck her in the head with a baseball bat and choked her Aug. 15, 2015.
Cybulski was asked to set the disposition in the revocation of Chapman’s suspended sentence for the same date as the sentencing in the 2020 case.
