News you can use
I thank God you have no one close to you that is in the “immune compromised risk” grouping.
I must read a different Bible than you, even though I sat in the same church you did for a number of years. My Bible says to submit to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake. So these mandates state to socially distance to keep COVID-19 from spreading. As you can see since May 24 — re-opening — 480 cases May 27 to June 16, 638 cases, the numbers have increased dramatically in Montana — and in the U.S.
Your freedom oppresses me. Since you have no desire to keep the spread of the virus at bay, I am required to keep myself distanced since I do not know if you and your Spike friends are spreading the virus in Hill County, because you think you are oppressed and don’t care about the lives of others.
We all have been under these mandates and those that choose to thumb their noses at the are responsible for any spread of the virus that may come to Hill County. Yes, you are a “powerful, thinking, free citizen,” but my life depends on you to think of the others that may come down with or spread the virus.
The second greatest commandment is to love thy neighbor as thyself. At this time I feel that your words in backing the actions of the local Spike owner are not upholding Montana, my health and the “high risk” people in our county.
My dictionary says draconian means extremely harsh, cruel — what in the last three months has been extremely harsh or cruel?
Graciously,
Ilene Parsons
