Montana’s Actors’ Theatre is continuing its 15-year tradition of children’s acting summer camps with the state moving through its phased re-opening in the COVID-19 pandemic, with safety precautions in place.

The first week of KidsMAT finished Thursday in Havre, and continues next week, also in Havre.

The camp moves to Chinook June 29 to July 2, then comes back to Havre July 6-9 and again July 13-16. The camps then goes to Shelby July 20-23 and wraps up in Rocky Boy July 27-30.

MAT said in a release that, to keep the camps as safe as possible during the COVID-19 pandemic and in keeping with the restrictions in Phase Two of the state re-opening, the troupe has made the following changes for this year’s KidsMAT camps:

All KidsMAT camps and performances will take place outdoors;

Camps will be strictly limited to 25 participants;

All interns in charge of youth activities are local students;

Camps are held in various locations throughout north-central Montana.

Camp fees include a T-shirt.

The registration fee for each camp is $50 for the first child and $35 for each additional child in the family. Scholarships are available.

Children must bring a sack lunch each day, but other snacks will be provided. Registration fees include a T-shirt and water bottle.
