Police investigating graffiti found at Pepin Park

Havre police are looking for people responsible for putting graffiti on recently re-opened park playground equipment.

Monday evening graffiti was found at Pepin Park on the playground equipment, which became open to the public June 1, as well as on the door to one of the bathrooms.

City park playground equipment had been off limits due to COVID-19 restrictions and was opened back up last week during Phase Two of the state re-opening plan.

Havre Police Chief Gabe Matosich said the graffiti in the park featured the phrases (expletive) “the Police,” and “Black Lives Matter” along with other designs.

Matosich said the matter is under investigation.

“We have a couple people of interest that we’re looking at,” he said.
