Triangle Telephone Cooperative Association, Inc., doing business as Triangle Communications, is planning to hold its 67th Annual Meeting of Members in a new way, with one northern meeting and one southern meeting.
The meetings will be streamed live on the co-op’s website.
The northern meeting will be held Saturday, Oct. 3, in Havre on the campus of Montana State University-Northern.
The southern meeting will be held Saturday, Oct. 17, in the American Legion Hall in Big Timber.
A quorum must be met at both locations, which means a minimum of 50 members must be present for a quorum at each meeting.
Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., and the business meeting will begin at 10 a.m. with lunch served following the meeting.
The full agenda will take place at both meeting locations. If any floor motions are made at the northern meeting, they will be carried over to the southern meeting before it will pass or fail.
Voting for the trustees will be held at both meetings for Districts 1 and 3. Members can vote at whichever meeting they attend, but a member can only vote once, even if the member attends both meetings. All members’ votes will be counted at the southern meeting in Big Timber.
The cooperative attorney from Church, Harris, Johnson & Williams will take custody of the ballots at the northern meeting and will hold custody of the ballots between the meetings. The cooperative will not have possession of the ballots between the two meetings and no voting will be allowed between the meetings.
Member gifts, as well as door prizes including processed beef and pork purchased from local 4-H members, will be at the metings. Up to six cash prizes will be available to members’ children in attendance. The voting will take place at the meeting for the annual Triangle Photo Contest. One member at each meeting will win the grand prize of an iPad Pro.
Meetings will be held with guidance from the state of Montana as it pertains to COVID-19.
