Kodi Cheyenne Barnes was sentenced in state District Court in Havre on a misdemeanor with another misdemeanor and two felonies dismissed in a plea agreement.
Barnes was charged with two felony counts of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence and misdemeanor counts of making false reports to law enforcement and criminal trespass to property after on Sept. 11, 2019, she told law enforcement a former boyfriend had beaten her up.
Witnesses told investigating officers the event she was claiming occurred didn’t happen.
Under the plea agreement, she pleaded guilty to making false reports and the other charges were dismissed.
Judge Kaydee Snipes Ruiz imposed last Wednesday a six-month sentence, all deferred, and ordered to pay $75 in fees and surcharges.
