Donald J. Coffman passed away May 9, 2020, due to complications from diabetes at the University of Utah Hospital with his children by his side.
Don was born December 21, 1959, to Bill and Sharon Coffman in Choteau, Mt. While in high school, Don spent summers working with his grandfather on his farm. He graduated from CMR in 1979.
After high school, he attended Diesel Mechanic Technical School in Great Falls. Following graduatuion from there, he moved to Lewistown to pursue his ambition as a mechanic.
July 5, 1980, Don married Wendy McDunn. Together they had two children, Mikel Molyneaux and James Coffman.
In 1990, Don moved to Havre to pursue an education in water quality. He graduated from Northern Montana College in 1992.
He worked for the City of Harlem for 22 years managing the water plant.
In 1996, he married Robin Briere. With this union he gained her three children, Deanne, Ben and Jeff Briere.
In May of 2011, Don was given a new lease on life with a kidney and pancreas transplant.
Don has been with the last love of his life, Carla Smith, for the last five years. Together, they have traveled back and forth from Montana to Texas to spend time with both his children and grandchildren.
Don loved to spend time with friends and family. He enjoyed camping, running his mud truck while he was able to, riding around in the side-by-side and riding his motorcycle.
Don was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, his mother, Sharon Coffman, his brother, Tom Coffman, and granddaughter Alora Briere.
Don is survived by his children, Mikel (Sheldon) Molyneaux of Havre and James Coffman of San Marcos, TX; Carla Smith; father, Bill (Donna) Coffman of Vaughn; sister Linda (Arnie) Knight of Billings, sister DeeAnn Middlestead of Helena, 13 grandchildren and one great-grandson, and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. Services will be held at a later date.
