The last rays of sunlight escape through fast-moving thunderheads Monday outside of Havre. The recent rains have brought a large amount of moisture to the region, and more might be on the way. The thunderstorms and steady rains have brought Havre to just short of its normal amount of precipitation for the month, with .94 inches reported for April through Wednesady at the Havre City-County Airport, with the normal amount for May 20 is 1 inch. That puts Havre just shy of the normal for the calendar year as well, with 2.66 inches this year and the normal value 2.99 inches. For the water year, from Oct. 1 to Sept. 30, Havre is above the normal, with 4.81 inches recorded and 4.4 inches the normal value. National Weather Service predicts a chance of more rain in the area through Saturday, with a warning that flooding could occur as rain falls on saturated ground.
