Press release
Box Elder Public Schools has announced that its Class of 2020 graduation ceremony will be on the Box Elder School football field Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
In keeping with current tribal and state health and safety guidelines, the board has set ceremony guidelines to help keep the celebration safe for everyone in attendance.
As directed by the tribe’s and Gov. Steve Bullock’s orders, anyone who has traveled out of Montana, or who has come to the state, must have been quarantined in Montana for two weeks, that is since May 9, to be permitted to attend the graduation ceremony. Along with that directive, the following guidelines must be followed.
Only graduates and their invited guests with a school-issued ticket will be permitted on the football field.
The entire group of invited guests must enter and be seated together at the designated time given to the seniors. Groups will not be seated until all guests on the list are in attendance.
All guests and graduates will be required to wear a mask once they enter the football field and until they leave the football field.
Once entering the football field, guests must remain in their designated row. All children must remain seated throughout the ceremony or withing the confines of their guest area.
Gifts will not be allowed to be given on school property.
Students have chosen a family member or members to award them their diploma.
Guests of the students will be seated in designated rows, separated by 12 feet from other groups.
Students will stand 6 to 10 feet apart outside the elementary playground after the ceremony, at approximately 2:40 p.m., for community and family members to drive by, honk, wave and celebrate their accomplishments.
Anyone who is not included on a guest ticket can watch the graduation ceremony online at NFHS network https://www.nfhsnetwork.com/events/box-elder-high-school-box-elder-mt/evtea693b98bc or on Facebook Live on the schools’ Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/BoxElderPublicSchools .
