Willard Joseph Langlois of Havre MT, 97, joined our heavenly father May 14, 2020, after a short stay in the hospital.
Willard was born January 18, 1923, to Willie and Clarice (Boisvert) Langlois in Lambert Township near Oaklee, MN. He was one of 14 children. As a youngster he attended rural schools and worked for area farmers. At the age of 17, he enlisted and served 18 months in the Civilian Conservation Corps at Middle River, MN.
In March 1943, Willard was drafted and inducted into the U.S. Navy, serving in South Pacific Theatre during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1945. After the war he returned home to MN, where he worked for Stanford Oil Co. in 1949, Willard moved to Montana, working for various ranches, with his favorite being the Flying D Ranch in the Gallatin Valley. He then became a sales representative in the home improvement and construction business, traveling throughout Montana and surrounding states.
In 1960, he married Irene Lund from Big Sandy and they raised three children, Lucinda, John and Teresa. The family moved to Kalispell in 1964, and then to Havre in 1976, where Willard started his own construction business, Willards Construction, which continued until his retirement. He was proud of his work, especially the care he gave to his clients property, including never disturbing the flowers.
Willard enjoyed working in his shop, fixing anything that needed repair. He was strong and a hard worker, continuing to work around the house and in the yard until he passed. He enjoyed socializing and could talk to anyone. He love to to dance, especially with his sister Theresa in his younger days and square dancing with Irene.
Willard loved his children and adored his two grandsons and then his great-grandson. Family was very important to him. He was always concerned with anyone who is down on their luck or hurting and would help them out in any way he could. Willard was a proud member of the St. Judes' Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, The Eagles Club and a life-time member of the VFW. His faith was an important part of his life
Willard was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, four sisters and recently infant twins, great-granddaughters Amelia Marie and Adelyn Irene.
Willard it is survived by his loving, devoted wife, Irene. The couple would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this July. Also surviving are his children, Lucinda (Larry) Presley of Lenora, WV, John Langlois of Salt Lake City, UT, Teresa (Jeff) Jensen of Havre, MT; grandsons, Jeremy (Kristina) Jensen of Havre, MT and Justin Jensen of Bozeman, MT; one great-grandson, Keegan Jensen, of Havre MT; his siblings Lawrence (Madeline) Dufault, Theresa Chimielewski, Antoinette Varin and Helen Pfeffer, all of MN, and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws
Services will be held at a later date.
