AARP Taxes: As soon as we know anything about restarting the AARP taxes, we will post information or the tax people will contact you. Remember the filing deadline has been extended. Relax, you will be taken care of if you’re on the sign up list.

Attention: The scammers are getting very sneaky in trying to get your information. They may pretend they are a friend on Facebook or text message you on your phone. Call your friend to make sure they’re the ones talking to you. Protect yourself. There are a lot of new ways COVID-19 scammers are trying to trick you into giving out your information. Do not respond to text messages, emails or phone calls. Do not give out any personal information. If you capture a phone number or text ID, please let us know by calling 265-5464, so we can forward it to the state fraud squad at Senior Medicare Patrol.

Meals on Wheels: Everyone signed up for MOW will continue to receive their meals as usual. Remember to call before 10 a.m. to let us know of any changes.

Congregate folks: We continued to give out meals at the Hill County Senior Center while being closed. If you would like to pick up a meal, call the Center before 10 a.m., order a meal to picked up — grab and go — at the center noon Monday through Friday. If you would like to, you may order a meal for one day or meals for the entire week. Please let us know which meals would be preferred ahead of time as it would be beneficial in preparation so we are aware of how much food to fix each day.
