Tornado sirens go off, no tornado detected

Havre police confirmed at about 5:40 p.m. today that the city tornado sirens went off, but said no major threat was apparent.

They are trying to determine why the siren went off, but had not found out at 5:40 p.m.

A thunderstorm was hitting the area with light rain falling in Havre when the siren went off.
