The Hill County Commission this morning voted down 2-0 a proposal that would have increased how much some county employees would have to pay to keep health insurance.
Commissioners Mike Wendland and Mark Peterson voted against the proposal, while Commissioner Diane McLean abstained.
The commission had proposed requiring employees pay more for insurance premiums for insuring spouses, children or familes, reducing the expense to the county. The commission said that would reduce property taxes by a small amount throughout the county.
