An update on Havre Public School's remote learning plan was discussed at the Board of Trustees meeting Tuesday.
The new district policy, 3650, Pupil Online Personal Information Protection on second and final reading was approved unanimously.
"This is part of our remote learning that we need in place to make sure we're protecting people's online personal information," Superintendent Andy Carlson said. "Basically making sure that we're following The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act with our online systems."
As for an update on Havre Public School's remote learning plan, he said, it will not be considered an action item, but would like it to recur on the agenda in times of updates or additions to the plan.
The plan outlines a remote working plan for each school in the district - Highland Park Early Primary School, Lincoln-McKinley Primary School, Sunnyside Intermediate School, Havre Middle School and Havre High School.
"We've been going for three weeks, I know there are some things working all right and there are other things that probably need to get addressed, but at this time no action," Carlson said.
The consideration of revised language about the memorandums of agreement between the Havre School District, Havre Educators Associations, Havre Paraprofessionals Educators Association and Teamsters was approved unanimously.
He said no real changes were made, just some language changes.
The agreements outline what the workplace looks like in accordance with the Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention guidelines.
"(It also) outlines compensation and benefits during this closure and what that has looked like not only for the past two weeks, but moving forward," Havre Public Schools Assistant Superintendent Craig Mueller said, "what leave looks like because leave during this time is an outline of any collective bartending agreement. What the expectation from the district is as far as performance of duties, the extra duty and extracurricular activities and making up instructional time."
Carlson recommended the board to continue to allow North Star School District #99 to cross boundaries into School District A for the purpose of picking up high school students, to pick up students at the Cottonwood School bus stop.
The motion was approved unanimously.
The next special board meeting will be Tuesday, April 28 at 12:15 p.m. at Robins School Administration Building.
The next Havre School Board of Trustees meeting is set for Tuesday, May 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Havre Middle School assembly room.
