While the summer as it relates to sports is uncertain right now, the Montana boys and girls all-star rosters for the annual Midland Roundtable Montana-Wyoming All-Star Basketball Series were released Thursday.
And a pair of local stars made the cut on the girls team.
Havre High senior Kyndall Keller and Harlem senior L’Tia Lawrence were both named to the girls team for the annual series. Both are headed to play for the University of Montana starting next fall.
Keller, who was also named the Montana Girls Gatorade Player of the Year last month, is a four-time Class A All-State selection who averaged 21 points per game this season. Lawrence also averaged 20 points for the Wildcats and is a three-time Class B All-Stater.
The complete girls team, coached by Rocky Mountain College’s Wes Keller, consists of Maddie Albrecht, 6-0, Billings West, Montana; Willa Albrecht, 6-0, Billings West, Lehigh; Dyauni Boyce, 5-11, Roy-Winifred, MSU Billings; Lexi Deden, 6-1, Missoula Sentinel, Montana State; Marie Five, 6-0, Hardin, MSU Billings; Mya Fourstar, 5-8, Wolf Point, Undecided; Keller, 5-8, Havre, Montana; Lawrence, 5-9, Harlem, Montana; Olivia Moten-Schell, 6-1, Billings Central, Undecided; and Kortney Nelson, 5-8, Scobey, MSU Billings.
The boys team will be coached by Providence head coach Steve Keller and is composed of Carter Ash, 6-2, Bozeman, Undecided; Keeley Bake, 5-11, Fairfield, Montana Tech; Abe Johnson, 6-9, Missoula Hellgate, Army; Brendon Johnson, 6-5, Livingston, Undecided; Camdyn LaRance, 6-2, Missoula Hellgate, Undecided; Famous Lefthand, 6-2, Hardin, Rocky; Julius Mims, 6-7, Billings Skyview, Undecided; Cayden Redfield, 6-4, Hardin, Northern State (South Dakota); Cade Tyson, 5-11, Billings West, Rocky and Rollie Worster, 6-3, Missoula Hellgate, Utah State.
The games are scheduled for June in both Sheridan, Wyoming, and in Billings, and while the current COVID-19 pandemic has put a halt to all organized sports around the world, Montana-Wyoming organizers are optimistic about the series still being played this summer.
“Everybody has their fingers crossed we can still have the games in the middle of June,” Richard Begger of Midlands Roundtable said. “We’re still being optimistic that is going to happen.”
