2020 Havre Daily News All Hi-Line Girls Team

For quite some time, girls basketball on the Hi-Line has been really, really good. Led by the dynasty that is the Havre High girls basketball program. Girls hoops in our coverage area is as good as it gets.

And the annual Havre Daily News All Hi-Line Girls Team always reflects just how good basketball is in the area, and the 2020 version is no different.

This year's team features two four-time selections, as well as a shopping five Blue Ponies. The list also has nine repeat performers, and is heavy with upperclassmen, including nine seniors. Havre, Harlem, Fort Benton and Turner also have multiple players on the list of 14, while all three classifications in the area are once again represented.

Kyndall Keller, Havre

A now four-time member of the All Hi-Line Team, Keller has done it all. Including being named the 2019-2020 Montana Gatorade Player of the Year. While signed to play for the University of Montana Lady Griz next fall, Keller is a four-time Class A All-Stater, and she averaged over 21 points per game this past season, the final season in her historic Blue Pony career.

L'Tia Lawrence, Harlem

Like Keller, Lawrence was named to the All Hi-Line Team all four years of her career. She led Harlem in scoring all four years, earned Class B All-State honors three times and helped the Wildcats reach back-to-back state tournaments, including the 2019 state tourney, which was their first-ever trip to state. Lawrence, who is also All-State in both cross country and track, is signed to play for MSU-Northern in college.

Aspen Giese, Fort Benton

Giese is on track to be a four-time All Hi-Line member, as she makes the list for the third year in a row. Averaging 16 ppg as a junior, Giese was named Class C All-State for a third time, and helped the Longhorns to their third straight District 9C championship.

Kadia Miller, Havre

Miller makes her third straight trip to the All Hi-Line Team. In her senior year, she did the same with the All-State list as well. Miller, who has averaged more than 10 points and five rebounds for her outstanding Blue Pony career, was also part of two state championship teams.

Sarah Billmayer, Turner

Making her second straight appearance on the All Hi-Line Team, Billmayer had a huge senior year for the Tornadoes. She averaged almost 20 ppg, had multiple 30-point outings, earned Class C All-State honors and helped the Tornadoes to their best season in three decades, including playing in the 9C title game.

Sadie Filius, Havre

Filius is a sophomore who is on track to make the All Hi-Line Team four times. Averaging more than 10 points per night, as well as being a lockdown defender, Filius earned Class A All-State honors for the second year in a row under head coach Dustin Kraske.

McKenzie Clark, Fort Benton

Clark exploded onto the scene in her senior year, earning Class C All-State honors, while averaging nearly 18 points per game, and leading the Longhorns in rebounding. A three-sport star at Fort Benton, Clark will play basketball and run track for the University of Providence starting in the fall.

Mulleah Stiffarm, HLP

What an incredible run for Hays-Lodge Pole this season. The T-Birds made their Northern C tournament in 32 years, and while there, made it all the way to the consolation game. Stiffarm was a huge part of that, averaging 17 points per game, on her way to earning All 9C honors for the third year in a row.

Shyan Krass, Turner

A junior, Krass is a repeat performer on the All Hi-Line Team. She averaged 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Tornadoes, who reached their third straight Northern C tourney. Krass also earned Class C All-State honors for the second straight season.

Katie Wirtzberger, Havre

Wirtzberger makes her second straight appearance on the All Hi-Line Team. Known as one of the top defenders in Class A, Wirtzberger was a staple in the Blue Ponies' run over the last three years. She stands out in track and field as well.

Taya Trottier, Harlem

Trottier makes her first appearance on the All Hi-Line Team. She earned Class B All-State honors for the Wildcats, while averaging nearly 20 points per game. She also helped Harlem reach the Class B state tourney for the second straight season.

Sarah Parisian, Box Elder

Parisian makes her first trip to the All Hi-Line Team. She led Box Elder in scoring and rebounding this past season, and in her four years with the Bears, she was part of back-to-back state championships, while also earning District 9C honors three times.

Loy Waid, Havre

Wade makes her first appearance on the All Hi-Line Team. She had a strong junior season in which she averaged more than six rebounds per night, and was a strong defender in the post for the Ponies. Waid too is a standout on the track.

Jade Wendland, North Star

Wendland makes her first trip to the All Hi-Line Team after an outstanding sophomore season in which she averaged more than 15 points per game, and earned 9C honors for the second year in a row. Wendland is also a star in the volleyball court as well for the Knights.
