The girls high school basketball season isn't over yet, but the biggest individual accolade is already out, and it's coming to Havre.
Last Friday, Blue Pony senior Kyndall Keller was named the Montana Gatorade Girls Basketball Player of the Year. The award is the highest individual honor in the state for hoopers, and Keller is just the second Blue Pony girl to win the award, joining former HHS great Loree Payne. Havre's Dane Warp was also the last Blue Pony to win a Gatorade Player of the year honor.
Of course Keller, who will try to help the Ponies win a third straight Class A state championship this weekend in Billings, has racked up plenty of acolades already, including being named Class A All-State three times, as well as Class A state tournament MVP twice. This season, Keller, who is headed to the University of Montana next fall, is averaging 20 points and five rebounds to go along with 51 steals and 32 assists.
