Montana's Gov. Steve Bullock announced today he will file as a candidate for U.S. Senate, challenging Republican Sen. Steve Daines in his re-election bid.
Bullock joins a crowded list of candidates, although Democrat Cora Neumann of Bozeman announced this morning she will withdraw from the race and endorse Bullock.
Bullock had denied pleas from top-level Democrats to pull from his bid for U.S. president to run for the Senate from the time he declared as a presidential candidate last summer.
When he withdrew from the presidential race at the start of December, Bullock said he did not intend to run for the Senate.
