Joseph Patrick Phillips, 81 passed away November 21, 2019, in Seymour, Missouri.
Joe was born, March 4, 1938, to Hugh Martin and Agatha (Carlin) Phillips in Havre, Montana.
He grew up in Havre, attending St. Jude's Catholic Schools, graduating from Havre Central High School in 1956. He continued his education at Idaho State in Pocatello, Idaho, then stayed there to work on the railroad.
He later returned to Havre working for the Great Northern Railway pick-up and delivery trucking service. During this time Joe served in the Air National Guard in Great Falls, Montana. He also had a furniture stripping business where he restored many pieces of furniture back to their original beauty.
Joe was known to have many beloved pets. Any stray cat or dog who came to his door was taken in and cared for. He loved Fresno Reservoir and spent many hours at his cabin there. He was an outdoorsman loving large game hunting and camping. Joe spent many hours on woodworking projects and building intricate models. Additionally, he was an avid reader owning copious amounts of books.
He was proceeded in death by his parents. Joe is survived by his sister Margaret (Frank) Hayes of Great Falls, Montana, brother Eugene "Gene" (Judi) Phillips of Deer Park, Washington, and six nieces and nephews.
At Joe's request, no services will be held.
