Kadia Miller, Havre Girls Basketball
After a roller coaster ride at the Eastern A Divisional, the Havre Blue Ponies are headed to state to defend their crown. Last week in Billings, senior Kadia Miller had a strong four games for the Ponies, averaging more than 12 points and nine rebounds as Havre finished third. Miller had a tournament-high 16 points in the dramatic semifinal game against Billings Central, and in Havre’s four games, she scored in double figures three times. Miller is a two-time Class A All-State selection.
Ryan Roth, Big Sandy Boys Basketball
The postseason has been an amazing run for the Big Sandy Pioneers, and especially for senior Ryan Roth. At last week's Northern C tournament in Great Falls, Roth poured in 43 points in an overtime win over Heart Butte, a win that ultimately lifted the Pioneers to the Northern C championship game. For the 9C and Northern C tournaments combined, Roth, a standout in football as well, averaged nearly 20 points per game for the Pioneers, who capped off their best basketball season since 2012.
