Middle school to host choir festival Monday

Havre Middle School is hosting a Middle School Invitational Choral Festival Monday, March 9, at Havre High School. 

Seventh and eighth grade students from Sunburst, Shelby, Chinook, Turner, Malta, Valier, North Star and Havre Middle School will sing in a large mass choir under the direction of a guest conductor, Great Falls High School choral director Jordan Spicher. 

After a day of rehearsing, an evening concert will be presented at 6:30 p.m. in the Havre High School Auditorium.

The repertoire is a diverse program including a spiritual, a folk lullaby of Ladino origin, a Latin canon from the 16th century, several American-inspired pieces, and a traditional Zambian folk song.

No admission cost is charged to attend the festival.
