James Thomas Block of Havre, 49, was arrested on a charge of failing to register as a sexual or violent offender, after officers initiated investigation of suspicious activity Monday at 2:59 p.m.

Sherman Dean Alexander Sr. of Box Elder, 57, was arrested on a disorderly conduct charge, after a caller on Third Street reported Monday at 5:53 p.m. that a man was passed out on the lawn.

James Vines of Havre, 34, was arrested on a partner or family member assault charge, after a caller on Saddle Butte Drive reported Monday at 10:34 p.m. that a man and woman were fighting. Vines' arrest was linked with an 11 p.m. call for under-age drinking that Hill County Sheriff's deputies assisted with.

Lonalee Schellin of Havre, 56, was issued a summons on a charge of driving under the influence, after a Monday 6:05 p.m. caller reported an issue with a westbound U-haul and a deputy on First Street reported at 6:15 p.m. that a vehicle was being driven in the turning lane.

Russell Harvey Cope of Havre, 19, Micah Wade Miranda of Kamuela, Hawaii, 19, Tupolo Lupeomanu, of Havre, 19, Morgan Barlean of Havre, 18, and Micah Alexandria Tweten of Glasgow, 19, were each issued a summons on a minor in possession charge, after Havre Police asked Monday at 11 p.m. for assistance at a Montana State University-Northern residence where a party with underage drinking was reported at 10:43 p.m.
Havre Fire Department
Emergency medical personnel responded to seven calls Monday and one this morning, and firefighters investigated a smoke smell on the 100 Block of Third Avenue at 3:34 p.m.
Havre Animal Shelter
The Havre shelter this morning held 14 cats and one kitten of unknown gender, two female 9-month-old kittens, five male cats, four female cats and one male 7-month-old kitten. Shelter personnel are working on another round of their trap/spay-neuter/release program, this time in the Fairview Trailer Court area, to help control the ferrel cat population in the city.

The shelter also held this morning a male American bulldog, a female mix-breed 21-week-old puppy, a male American Eskimo dog, a female 8-month-old German shepherd puppy, a male mix-breed dog, a female mix-breed 7-week-old puppy, a male Chihuahua dog, a male mix-breed 11-month-old puppy and a male mix-breed 8-month-old puppy.
