Press release

The North Star High School Speech and Drama team headed to Big Fork over the weekend to compete at the 2020 B-C State Speech, Drama and Debate meet.

The Knights had five students of the six entrants make semi-finals and two students make it on to place at state.

In drama, Hayden Massar made it to finals and placed seventh in humorous solo acting at state.

Choral Wicks and Kaden Frickel were semi-finalists in dramatic theatre, but just barely missed finals and ended up taking ninth place overall.

In speech, Daniel Nerat made the finals in impromptu speaking and placed fifth at state.

Aubrey Welch made semi-finals but just missed finals, placing ninth in spontaneous oral interpretation of literature.

Collin Welch missed out on semi-finals but represented North Star High School well in humorous oral interpretation of literature.

As a team, North Star High School placed seventh in both speech and drama.

“Great job, Knights and congratulations to our state placers,” school representatives said in a press release.
