Hello, God. It's me, Mara.

Compassion

You know, Lord, the Bible states that God knows our purpose on this earth before we were ever born. In this age of options, opportunities, choices, and more, You Lord, or all creation, made us for a specific purpose and reason, so, in one sense, we can't be just anything that we want to be. Now that is "food for thought" right?  We were formed and set apart for You. Part of our journey here on this earth is not to create our destiny, but to discover it.  As we choose to connect with You, our maker, we connect with who we truly are.

Compassion is not pity, not anger, not shame, not impatience, not intolerance, not rejection; but compassion is what You, Our Father, gives to us. You care for us when we are in pain; You care enough to enter into our world and share it and to help us. When reading Psalm 103:13, we realize that You have compassion on those who fear You.

We can pray that Your Spirit of compassion would be found in our relationships, through the Grace of You, Lord. We thank You for not only knowing and caring about our struggles and problems, but for sending help our way, Jesus, by the Holy spirit. We know Your love and mercy, Your might and power.

It is more than marvelous for us to know that YOU knew us before we came to earth! It says so right in Jeremiah 1:4-5 (NIV): as the Lord was talking to Jeremiah, telling him what was in store for him, we read: "The word of the Lord came to me, saying, 'Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.'"

Love, Mara
