Orion Thivierge, Havre High Wrestling

The Havre High wrestling team is approaching the postseason, and sophomore Orion Thivierge appears to be hitting on all cylinders. Thivierge placed an outstanding third at the Rocky Mountain Classic two weeks ago in Missoula, at 170 pounds. Then, last weekend in Lewistown, he went a perfect 8-0 between 170 and 160 pounds for the Ponies at the Class A Duals. Thivierge, who was a Class A All-State performer as a freshman last season, is also a standout on the football field and in track for Havre High.

Aspen Giese, Fort Benton Girls BB

Last season didn’t end how Fort Benton’s Aspen Giese hoped, when she suffered a tough injury. But her junior year has been going well, and now, she’s really heating up. Last weekend, Giese scored 23 points in Fort Benton’s thrilling win over Turner, and one night later, she added 16 more points as the Longhorns bested North Star to remain perfect on the season. Giese, who has been starting for the Longhorns since she was a freshman, is also a standout in track and field, and an All-State performer in hoops.
