Pesticide applicator training set in Hingham

The Hill County Extension Office will be holding a class for any producers wishing to obtain a private pesticide applicators license.

The class is for new applicators to be able to purchase and apply restricted-use products.

The training will be Wednesday, Jan. 22, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Spencer’s Hiway Bar and Grill, in Hingham.

The training is free, but a fee is required to obtain a license. The fee is $12 for people living in District 3.

Space is limited, so people must register by Tuesday, Jan. 21, to attend. People can register by calling Hill County Exension at 665-5481 or emailing allen@montana.edu .

The training agenda is:

9 a.m. — The Private Applicator License — Tom Allen, Hill County Extension

9:30 a.m. — Reading the Label — Tom Allen, Hill County Extension

10 a.m. — Integrated Pest Management — Tyler Lane, Chouteau County Extension

11 a.m. — Pesticide Safety — Tom Allen and Tyler Lane

12:30 p.m. — Lunch on attendees’ expense; venue will have a lunch special

1 p.m. — Pesticide Laws — Jesse Fulbright, Liberty County Extension

2 p.m. — Calibration — Terry Turner, Hill County Weed District

3:30 p.m. — Pesticides in the Environment — Tom Allen, Hill County Extension

4:30 p.m. — Exam
