Hi-Line Athletes of the Week

Sarah Billmayer, Turner Girls Basketball

The Turner girls are off to another good start, and so is senior Sarah Billmayer. In two District 9C games before the Christmas break, Billmayer scored 11 and 22 points, respectively, including a 22-point outing in a win over the Chester-Joplin-Inverness Hawks. Billmayer is a fifth-year varsity standout, and three-time All-Conference selection for the Tornadoes. She also stood out on the volleyball court this past fall at Harlem and is an excellent track and field athlete in the spring.

Mick Chagnon, Havre Wrestling

Havre High’s Mick Chagnon started his 2019-2020 season off with a bang. Chagnon, a defending state champion at 103 pounds for the Blue Ponies, won the season-opening Havre Invitational where his bracket consisted of both 103 and 113-pounders. Chagnon also helped the Ponies to a strong showing at the CMR Holiday Classic just before Christmas break. Chagnon, who is also a varsity tennis player at HHS, and the Ponies renew their season Saturday in Sidney.
