People were out ringing in the new year Tuesday night, ready to end one year and make a fresh start in the next.
At the beginning of a new year people tend to make a list of goals, aspirations and resolutions they'd like to reach within the year, and a few people New Year's Eve told the Havre Daily News their resolutions.
Brandalyn Healy of Havre said her New Year's resolutions are to get her kids succeeding in school as well as for them to be healthy and to be healthy herself and get their life put together more.
"I think my New Year's resolution would probably be a little more healthy and quit some stuff that I need to quit," Zackary Canning of Havre said. "Most importantly, I'd like to work on being a little more financially stable for my kids and my family."
He added that other than those resolutions he would like to have a good year.
Havre High School Junior Sarania Flores said her New Year's resolution is to end her junior year of high school on a good note and to make sure she has everything ready for college after next year.
Others also spoke of education and learning.
"As a person, I will try my best to be proactive and put aside the procrastination of my day-to-day obligations," Raul Bertho of Havre said. "As a professional, I will study hard to be approved on the master's degree in Brazil or the U.S. and further improve my English."
Marcela Kuczynski da Rocha of Havre said she would like for the year 2020 she would like to finalize her doctoral research and publish some scientific articles.
"At a personal level I would like to live each day as if it were my last, spend more time people who really matter to me, travel places I don't know yet, return to my family in Brazil and get engaged," she said.
Michael Bober of Rocky Boy's Indian Reservation said he would like to play more music and learn how to play different instruments in 2020.
"I play the saxophone and clarinet, but I want to learn how to play the trumpet, flute, more jazz, more blues and also to promote more music here in Havre," he said.
