Letter to the Editor - 15th Annual Holiday Hoops Blue Pony alumni basketball games set

Havre Public Schools Education Foundation’s is getting ready to host the 15th Annual Holiday Hoops Blue Pony Alumni Basketball Games. It is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 27, at Havre High School gymnasium at 7 p.m. Admission to the game is a non-perishable food item or toiletry item to be donated to the Havre Public Schools Pantry.

All Havre High alumni are invited to participate, young and old, guys and girls, whether you played during your school years or not, it’s an evening of friendly competition. To sign up to play you may call Patch at 399-0619 or Grayson at 680-2323. Anyone not able to pre-register may show up at the gym Friday evening and get on a team. The evening is easy going and relaxing, just what is needed after the busy Christmas holiday. Alumni enjoy getting together for a ‘just for fun’ game and friends, family and fans have a great time cheering on their favorite alum. This year we have a new twist for the teams. One team will be The Fossil’s. In honor of the HPSEF upcoming Fossil Festival All Class Reunion 2020 year long planning and promotion. Some of the players will be wearing a Fossil’s T-shirt, provided by HPSEF, not according to age, just for fun.

The Havre High TSA, tech clubs, will have concessions available. Be sure to save some room for goodies while watching the games and at the same time you will be supporting student clubs. Havre Public Schools Education Foundation will have a free will donation box for anyone wanting to toss a few dollars into it. All proceeds from the donation box are used for the scholarship program.

The directors would also like to remind everyone about our ongoing license plate fundraiser. When your vehicle registration is due take a look at the Blue Pony license plate. It is a beautiful plate, helps to express blue pony pride, makes finding your vehicle in the parking lot a little easier and would make a unique Christmas gift. Thank you to all that have already purchased and renewed their blue pony plate, $20. of each plate purchased or renewed is donated to HPSEF to help with our goal of supporting Havre Public Schools educators and students with small grants and special projects.

The Foundation is fortunate to be part of the Independence Bank School Spirit debit card program. New or current accounts may request a blue pony debit card and with each transaction the bank will donate $.05 to the Foundation. Remember to use your debit card for all holiday purchases, those nickels certainly add up. We are grateful to Independence Bank for this opportunity and thank all account holders that are using a blue pony debit card.
