News you can use
Editor,
I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to all the volunteers that help with the blood drive that takes place at the St. Judes Parish Center every other month.
Since the drive is also held during the school year months of January, March, September and November the cooks have to rearrange their schedule to serve the school lunch. It is much appreciated for the canteen volunteers to be able to use the kitchen to serve the donors a snack after their donation. Those organizations serving the canteen are Kinghts of Columbus, Methodist Church, Fifth Avenue Church, First Lutheran Church, Lions and PCCW. The cookies are donated by McDonald’s, NorthWestern Energy, Infinity Bake Shoppe, Stockman Bank, Havre Rotary and Independence Bank. These organizations do not hesitate to help when I call on therm. I would also like to thank St. Jude’s for the use of their Parish Center, the Knights of Columbus for setting up and cleaning up when the drive is over, Wade and Al Bitz for placing the signs and my dependable helpers, Lois Kuhn and Sue Swan.
Most of all, I would like to thank the donors that are so reliable and patient each month and the ones that just come in. Sometimes it gets a little hectic, but it seems to all work out in the end and every unit of blood given saves three lives.
For blood donors, please call 1-800-733-2767 to make an appointment or go on line and use the rapid pass. This saves you time during the history taking. The next drive will be Jan. 6, 2020. “See” you then.
Deanna Bitz, volunteer
