Relay For Life committee sets date, location

Relay For Life of North Central Montana met for their monthly meeting Wednesday to finalize the 2020 date and pick a location for the relay.

The Relay For Life of North Central Montana will be held Friday, July 10, from 5 to 11 p.m. in the Montana State University-Northern Armory Gymnasium.

The committee’s next fundraising effort is a vendor show planned for Saturday, Nov. 23, featuring with crafts and baked goods at the Havre Eagles Club from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“Bake whatever, but keep in mind that is the weekend before Thanksgiving, so anything you could help people out with toward their dinner, like dinner rolls, that’s what I am going to make,” said Relay For Life Committee Co-Chair Donna Tilleman, an employee of the Havre Daily News.

The committee members said, with the holidays approaching, they will not hold a fundraising event in December.

The committee added that toward the beginning of next year they will start their fundraising efforts up again at Taco John’s, Pizza Hut and more.

Tilleman said the committee has raised $199 so far.

She added that from now up to the 2020 relay, the committee is accepting donations.

Luminary forms are also available, and people can get them from Relay For Life Committee member Claudia  Howard. People can contact her for more information at 390-0173.

The luminaries will be available for $5 or three for $10 through June 10, and starting June 11, they will be $10, or $15 for two.

The Luminaria Ceremony will be at 10 the night of the relay.

Next month’s committee meeting will be Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 6 p.m. at Gram’s Ice Cream and Candy Shoppe.
