Letter to the Editor - Remember Eldon Mooney Dec. 7

Editor,

On 7 December, the Pacific Junction Railway Club at the Havre Rail Museum will honor Eldon Mooney. Eldon moved to Havre from Billings, where he worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad the Burlington Northern Railway. In Havre he worked for the Burlington Northern as well.

Eldon loved trains and loved his job. At home, he constructed a model railroad literally encompassing all the rooms of the basement. The guest book lists hundreds of names. During retirement, he was one of the founding members of the Pacific Junction Railway at the Havre Railway Museum. He donated hundreds of hours of work to the model railway club and more yet to Havre Beneath the Streets. He never expected to be reimbursed And he boasted only about the efforts of the group; never himself. We will run trains Saturday the Seventh of December from noon to 6 p.m.

Come join us remembering our friend and collaborator, Eldon Mooney.
