Havre Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 497 will have an outdoor ceremony at the Veterans Memorial in Town Square followed by a free lunch at the Havre Elks Lodge Monday, Nov. 11, for Veterans Day.
“Come out and celebrate,” Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 497 Quartermaster Scott Prindeville said. “Honor and thank our veterans for their service and come out and have some lunch. It’s going to be a good time.”
The memorial will be outside and include a brief ceremony including a rifle salute and taps performed by a honor guard made up of a combination of members from American Legion Post 11, VFW post 497 and a few other community members, depending on the weather.
He added that the ceremony will be followed by a presentation by the American Legion, VWF and Elks Club at the Havre Elks Lodge with a free community lunch provided by the VFW.
The event is open to the community, Prindeville said.
