Aspen Baker, Harlem Volleyball
The Harlem Wildcats made a historic run at last week’s District 2B volleyball tournament. And outside hitter Aspen Baker was a big reason why the Wildcats played in their first-ever district championship match. In the 2B semifinals, Baker tallied 10 kills and two blocks in a sweep over Wolf Point, while she added nine more kills in Harlem’s championship match loss to Glasgow. Baker and the Wildcats are now off to the Northern B Divisional later this week.
Kade Strutz, Big sandy Football
Last Saturday wasn’t the first time Big Sandy’s Kade Strutz has had a 200-yard rushing game. It was just the latest. In the Pioneers’ Six-Man playoff win over Richey-Lambert last Saturday, Strutz rushed for 265 yards on 30 carries, as Big Sandy beat the Fusion 51-16. Strutz also scored five times, four on the ground, as well as an interception returned for a score. Strutz and the Pioneers host Roy-Winifred in the Six-Man semifinals this Saturday.
